The 30th Formation Evaluation Symposium of Japan

 

The 30th Formation Evaluation Symposium of Japan will be held on 8th to 10th Oct. 2025. All persons involved in oil, gas, new energy, geo-engineering industry, and scientific drillings are invited to showcase your case studies, new technologies and innovations.

GENERAL THEMES

The symposium committees are soliciting papers in the following:

  • Formation evaluation of conventional and unconventional reservoirs
  • New technology/advanced of logging and sampling
  • New technology in subsurface (geophysical, geological, petrophysical and reservoir)
  • Case Studies from oil, gas, geothermal, new energy, CCUS, geo-engineering, and scientific drillings

SPECIAL THEMES 

We set “Advanced sampling analysis at surface” as a special session theme in this symposium, and the latest innovations and experiences will be shared with the JFES symposium participants. The invited presentations in person and online will be organized by the symposium committee by inviting the industry leaders from global universities, research institutes and energy companies.

  • Mud logging
  • Fluid sampling and analysis
  • Automation of the description and analysis of the cut and the cores
  • Digital rock or cores

Best Student Awards: The outstanding presentation will be given the best student awards. The student awarded would be nominated for SPWLA student paper contest in the international SPWLA 2026 symposium.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Abstract Submission

  • Due date: 11:59 pm Japan Standard Time (GMT+09:00) March-31, 2025.
  • Abstract must be submitted online using the following Microsoft Forms.

  • Abstract shall contain 300-600 words in English. It should NOT contain figures, diagrams, or tables.
  • You can choose whether to submit an e-abstract for publication in OnePetro or not.
  • Previously published presentations may be presented without submitting an e-abstract and without publication in OnePetro.

Any change to this policy is at the discretion of the JFES Technical Committee and will be studied on a case-by-case basis for exceptional cases.
